International Programmes
A developing initiative from Oakman Care
Oakman Care’s main work is preventive wellbeing support in the UK: reassurance calls nationwide and wellbeing visits across London. Alongside this, we are developing an international programmes arm that helps qualified doctors from Ghana arrange short, strictly observational placements, often called observerships or clinical attachments, at hospitals in the UK and internationally.
What we do
Our role is coordination and administration only. We help candidates identify programmes that fit their goals, prepare complete and accurate applications, gather the documents each hospital requires, and stay organised through the host institution’s own process. Candidates apply through each hospital’s official route and pay any fees directly to the institution.
What we do not do
We are not a medical education provider and we are not a recruitment agency. We do not sponsor visas. We do not place anyone in patient care, and observers never take part in hands-on clinical work. Every decision about acceptance, supervision, conditions and fees rests entirely with the host hospital, under its own rules and policies.
Why we are doing this
Many capable, fully qualified doctors in Ghana want structured international exposure to strengthen the care they provide at home. The barriers they face are usually administrative: unclear routes, incomplete applications and unfamiliar processes. That is the gap we help to close.
Where the programme stands
This programme is in its early stages. We are currently introducing ourselves to host institutions and building relationships. We will only ever describe the programme as it truly is.
For hospitals and institutions
If you have received an enquiry from us, it relates to this programme. We are happy to answer any questions about how we work.
